It’s happening, it’s really happening! I finally made a trip to IKEA to buy some furniture for my studio. The walls and floors have been repainted, furniture built, and my belongings have slowly begun to creep their way inside. It’s beginning to resemble a work space.
My desk is still sort of a work in progress. It’s actually a small dining table – I got it so I would have a broad surface to spread out and work on stuff. Eventually I might build some shelves or put a storage cabinet underneath.

I’ve started to add a few decorative touches like this mobile made of driftwood, colored glass, string, beads, and crystals. My boyfriend Max’s mom is a glass artist and let us keep it for our house when we went to visit her at her studio this summer. I’ve been dreaming of the day I could finally hang it in here ever since I got it. I’ll have to post a picture of it during the day when the sun hits the surface of the crystal! For now, you’ll have to settle for a reflection from the flash of my camera…

There’s an unending list of things I want to do around the house, it seems, and I really hope to be tackling more of it soon.
Until then, I have to go and move this disaster of office and art supplies into the studio somehow…

Looks great!
